Day 0

This is the day I decided to come out from mommy's belly. After the due date (March 18) has passed, Dad and Mom prayed together before they went to sleep, then I started working at 12:45 am. Mom woke up Daddy, "Honey, it seems this is it" Dad was so skeptical and asked her" Come on, how could this be? Do you know what's contraction?". Dad started to record the time Mom felt the contractions and packing things up at the same time. By about 1:45 am, the contractions continued every 5 min for 1 hour. Yes, we said goodbye to grandpa and grandma and left for hospital. When we arrived at Kaiser Baldwin Park hospital at 2:30 am, the nurse put Mom in a monitoring room for an hour. A mid-wife came over at 4 am and said mom's dilation was only 2 cm and she was not able to be admitted to the hospital yet. She either go back home or walk for 2 hours in the hospital. So Mom had to bear the pain and walked around the L&D floor. By 5:45 am, Mom couldn't walk anymore. She went back to the room and rest. By 6:30 am, Mom has dilated to 3.5 cm, so she was admitted to the hospital. She asked for epidural immediately because she wants to conserve all energy to push me out, but unfortunately the hospital was changing shift that she couldn't get the epidural till 8:30 am. By 9 am, the mid-wife checked on Mom again and nothing in progress. She was still dilated at 3.5 cm, so Pitocein was ordered. Mom started feeling the contractions were getting stronger and she was pushing the bolus button for pain medication during each contractions. The doctor was called to the floor again. He increased the medication and Mom's legs were totally numb, especially the left leg. Everything was going smoothly at this time, so Mom and Dad took a nap. Dad even had time to check out the lighting condition of the birth room. He prepared the camera and video setup for taking pictures. By 12 pm, Mom has dilated to 5 cm and the mid-wife broke the water at the same time. She told Dad that hopefully Mom would deliver the baby by 5 pm with this speed. Therefore, Dad went to Cafeteria to buy his lunch and updates the news with all grandparents. However, I was not doing good inside Mom's tummy. The nurse realized my heart rate has slowed down a little bit, she gave a oxygen mask to Mom. But the heart rate was still unstable. The nurse checked on Mom's dilation again at 1 pm and shouted "You are ready, it is 10 cm and I feel the head.". She paged the mid-wife immediately and Mom knew Dad would take his time to order lunch. She called Dad to come back to the room at once. Yes, Dad was ordering a grill sandwiches and he had to rush to finish it by the time he paid. By 2:30 pm, the team asked Mom to start pushing. By 3:01 pm, I was born with 7 lbs 6 oz and 19.5 inches, name Isaac Yu Hin Li 李宇軒. Isaac means "Laughter" 宇軒 means 氣宇軒昂的縮寫.

I weighted 3kg 340 gram, which is 7 lb 6 oz.
